ROPE HALTERS

Are made from a finer rope and have knots to create pressure point. Rope halter is generally designed to put a pressure on a smaller area. A normal halter (usually nylon) is made to distribute the pressure over a larger area. That is why you can use subtler aids to teach your horse to yield to pressure.

There are two types of halters on offer :

• with standard rounded knots

• with flat knots (this type of halter is suitable for wearing under the bridle or for sensitive horses seeking more comfort and not needing that extra pressure which standard halter offers)

Anyone choosing to use pressure halter should know how the halter works and how to train the horse with minimal pressure.

Halters are used mainly for groundwork but also for day to day handling of your equine friend. There are several videos on youtube how to fit and tie a rope halter correctly, please take time to have a look. And at last - “Never leave a horse unattended while wearing a pressure halter - it can be dangerous !”. The rope is incredibly strong.

NECK STRAPS

Are suitable for bridle less riding or as a safety tool. When you loose your balance or get in trouble on your horse, rather than trying to pull on the horses mouth, use a neck strap to help you out and give you extra security. It is a very useful piece of equipment in many situations and is not intended just for beginners. Don’t be ashamed to use one, it is a great tool!
